McKenzie teter

is a poet, educator, and editor. She received her MFA in poetry from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (2021), where she served as a poetry reader for Ecotone and coordinator for the Young Writers Workshop summer program. She received her BA in English Literature and Creative Writing from Queens University of Charlotte. Her writing can be found in Rejection Letters, The Shore, Foothill Poetry Journal and more. She was awarded the Pinch Literary Prize for Poetry in 2025.

Originally from Youngstown, Ohio, McKenzie is a lover of all things Midwestern. Her writing focuses on Rust Belt themes, family dynamics, genealogy, girlhood, and Italian traditions and folklore.

She currently lives in Asheville, North Carolina.
